Will women will get male hoor in paradise ? Post-Mortem Of Dr. Zakir Naik’s Blasphemous Aqidah

Author : Maulana Muhammad A K Azad [ Abu Arif Al Alawi]

Pseudo-Reformer Zakir Naik’s  horrible blunder is that he makes his own tafsir of Al Quran like his mentor Abul Ala Maududi. This is open declaration of war against Sharia Rules. Maududi writes in favour of making own tafsir of Quran : ''The teachings of Qur'an and Sunnat-e-Rasool are a must for all but not from the old collection of Tafseer and Ahadith.''  (Tanqihaat, Page 114). Now let us see how Maududi's flag-bearer Mr Naik dares to cross all limitations.

Dr Naik was asked :  " Assalamu Alaikum My name is Saba. I am a student.  My  question to brother Zakir is that according to the Qur’an when a man enters paradise, he will get hoor, i.e. beautiful maidens. What will a woman have when she enters paradise? "

Brother Naik replied :    " The word hoor occurs in the Qur’an in no less than four different places: In Surah Dukhan chapter 44, verse 54 , In Surah Al-Tur chapter 52 verse 20 , In Surah Rahman chapter 55 verse 72 , In Surah Al-Waqiah chapter 56 verse 22 . Many translators of the Qur’an have translated the word hoor as ‘beautiful maidens’ especially in the Urdu translations. If hoor means ‘beautiful maidens’ or girls, then they are meant only for the men. Hence, what will the women get if they enter Paradise? The word hoor is actually the plural of ahwar (applicable to man) and of haura (applicable to woman) and signifies a person having eyes characterized by hauar a special quality bestowed upon a good soul, male or female in paradise and it denotes the intense whiteness of the white part of the spiritual eye. The Qur’an describes in several other verses , Surah baqara-Verse No 25 and Surah Nisah - Verse No 57 that in paradise you will have azwaje mutahhara meaning companion .Mohammad Asad has translated the word hoor as spouse and Abdullah Yusuf Ali as companion. Therefore, the real meaning of hoor is companion or partner. A man in paradise will have a hoor that is a beautiful maiden with beautiful big and lustrous eyes and a woman in paradise will get a man with beautiful big and lustrous eyes. Hope the answer is clear."

Dear Readers ! To mainatin the Hyaaa of women as well as men , I'll not delve deep into this issue. Just let us Ponder over a basic Point. InshaAllah, it'll be  sufficient to expose  Zakir Naik's word-game .

Did Rasulullah Sallallahu Alaihi wa Sallam ever say in tafsir of the verses relating to hoors that  women will get male hoor in paradise ? Did Khulfae Rashidin ever say in tafsir of concerned verses that  women will get male hoor in paradise ? Did any Tabi'i  and Tab-Tabain, belonging to the age of Khairul Quroon, ever say in tafsir of concerned verses that women will get male hoor in paradise ? Did Imam Abu Hanifa, Imam shafi'i, Imam Maliki and Imam Hanbal ever make such tafsir? Did any Tafsir-Specialist, from Tabari, Ibne Kathir, Fakhruddin Razi, Qurtubi  and  Jalaluddin Syuoti to  Justice Karam Shah Azhari  make such tafsir ? Did any  Scholar in the 1400-years history  of Islam ever declare in tafsi of the concerned verse that women will get male hoor? The answer is, emphatic No. Even Ibne Taimiya and his followers did not dare to make such tafsir. De facto, there is not the tiniest hint  in Al Quran and Hadith regarding women receiving male hoor in Paradise.

Dear Readers !  Please read these verses of al Quran  relating hoors attentively.

        1.     In these [gardens] will be mates of modest gaze, whom neither man nor invisible being will have touched ere then. [55:56]

         2.     [There the blest will live with their ]companions pure and modest, in pavilions [splendid] [55:72]

      3.        [companions] whom neither man nor invisible being will have touched ere then. [55:74].

      .
Dear Readers !What Does  Brother Zakir Naik mean ? Does he mean that that there are gay men in Jannah?  That's what it means when you declare` the "hoor" mentioned in the Qur'an refers to men when these verses clearly states that no man or jinn has touched them.

Tafseer of Ibn Katheer on these verses

"(Qasirat At-Tarf) chaste females, wives restraining their glances, desiring none except their husbands, seeing them as the most beautiful men in Paradise. This was said by Ibn `Abbas, Qatadah, `Ata' Al-Khurasani and Ibn Zayd. It was reported that one of these wives will say to her husband, "By Allah! I neither see anything in Paradise more handsome than you nor more beloved to me than you. So praise be to Allah Who made you for me and made me for you.'' Allah said,

(whom never deflowered a human before nor Jinn ) meaning they are delightful virgins of comparable age who never had sexual intercourse with anyone, whether from mankind or Jinns, before their husbands. This is also a proof that the believers among the Jinns will enter Paradise. Artat bin Al-Mundhir said, "Damrah bin Habib was asked if the Jinns will enter Paradise and he said, `Yes, and they will get married. The Jinns will have Jinn women and the humans will have female humans.''' Allah's statement,

(whom never deflowered a human before nor Jinn. Then which of the blessings of your Lord will you both deny) Then Allah describes these women for the proposed:
[كَأَنَّهُنَّ الْيَاقُوتُ وَالْمَرْجَانُ ]

(they are like Yaqut and Marjan.) Mujahid, Al-Hasan, Ibn Zayd and others said, "They are as pure as rubies and white as Marjan.'' So here they described Marjan as pearls. Imam Muslim recorded that Muhammad bin Sirin said, "Some people either boasted or just wondered who are more in Paradise, men or women. Abu Hurayrah said, `Has not Abu Al-Qasim (Muhammad ) said,

(Verily, the first group that will enter Paradise will look like the moon when it is full, and the next batch will be as radiant as the radiant star in the sky. Each one of them will marry two wives. The marrow of the bones of their shins will be seen through the flesh. None will be unmarried in Paradise.) This Hadith was recorded in the Two Sahihs. Imam Ahmad recorded that Anas said that the Messenger of Allah said,

(A morning or an evening journey in Allah's cause is better than the world and whatever is on its surface. And a place in Paradise as small as that occupied by the whip of one of you, is better than the world and whatever is on its surface. If one of the women of the people of Paradise looks directly at the earth, she will fill what is between Paradise and earth with a good scent and all of it will become delightful. Verily, the veil over her head is better than this life and all that is on its surface.)     Al-Bukhari also collected a similar narration. "

It was narrated that Anas ibn Maalik (may Allaah be pleased with him) said: “I heard the Messenger of Allaah (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) say: ‘Going out and coming back for the sake of Allaah is better than this world and all that is in it. And a spot the size of the bow of one of you in Paradise – or a spot the size of his whip – is better than this world and all that is in it. If a woman from among the people of Paradise were to look at the people of this earth, she would light up all that is in between them and fill it with fragrance. The veil on her head is better than this world and all that is in it.’” (Narrated by al-Bukhaari, no. 2587

FATWA OF SALAFI SCHOLAR Shaikh Ibn 'Uthaimeen

Allah, the Most Blessed, the Most High says, regarding the blessings of Paradise:

" ..Therein you shall have (all) that your inner-selves desire, and therein you shall have (all) for which you ask for. An entertainment from
(Allâh), the Oft-Forgiving, Most Merciful." (Surah Fussilat 41:31-32)

And He, the Most High says:

"..And therein all that inner-selves could desire, and all that eyes could delight in and you will abide therein forever." (Surah Az-Zukhruf 43:71)

And it is well known that marriage is one of the things which the souls desire most, and so it will be found in Paradise for the people of Paradise, whether they be men or women. So, Allah, the Most Blessed, the Most High will marry the woman in Paradise to the man who was her husband in the life of this world, as He, the Most Blessed, the Most High says:

"Our Lord! And make them enter the 'Adn (Eden) Paradise (everlasting Gardens) which you have promised them - and to the righteous among their fathers, their wives, and their offspring! Verily, You are the All Mighty, the All-Wise." (Surah Ghafir 40:8)

If she did not marry in the life of this world, then Allah, the Most High will marry her to one who pleases her in Paradise.

View of Sheikh 'Atiyyah Saqr, former Head of Al-Azhar Fatwa Committee

In the Name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful.

All thanks and praise are due to Allah and peace and blessings be upon His Messenger.

Dear questioner, we would like to thank you for your good question and we implore Almighty Allah for His help in furnishing you with the best answer.

In the very beginning, we would like to cite Ibn Kathir's comment on the issue of men having Hoor Al-'Een. It reads: "Almighty Allah tells us that He will provide the residents of Paradise with beautiful wives who have big and lustrous eyes and 'whom no man or Jinn before them has touched' and who are 'Like unto rubies and coral'".

In fact, Paradise is the abode of the believers in the Hereafter. Allah has prepared for His believing servants, males and females, in Paradise indescribable bliss that which no eye has seen, no ear has heard of and that has never ever crossed the minds of people, to the extent that even the person who has the least blessings in Paradise will think that he is the most blessed one.

In more than one Qur'anic verse, Allah, Most High, calls upon His servants to do their utmost in order to be favored with Paradise. For example, He says, "And vie one with another for forgiveness from your Lord, and for a Paradise as wide as are the heavens and the earth, prepared for those who ward off (evil)." (Al 'Imran: 133)

All this indicates that in Paradise believing men and women will be showered with blessings; there is no room for discrimination based on gender in Paradise.

Focusing more on this issue, Sheikh 'Atiyyah Saqr, former Head of Al-Azhar Fatwa Committee, adds:

"Here Allah mentions the Hoor Al'Een because in most cases men pursue women and not vice versa. As for women, Allah Almighty may marry them to any of the believers in Paradise, if they did not get married during worldly life, or He may compensate them by making them feel content with their position. It is also said that Allah may grant women some kind of beauty with which they will feel that they are better than the Hoor Al-'Een and that they are their mistress, so they will not love anyone other than their own husbands nor will they feel jealous of the Hoor Al-'Een."

In order to pacify the feminists, Brother Naik here dared to cross all limitations on this issue and tried to corrupt the aqida of general educeted Muslim youths.
